Shrinking wrinklies

Before they changed the rules, I could have retired next Tuesday.  Now I have to wait another 4 years, 2 months and 17 days.

As they're slowing down the rate at which people retire, but not also slowing down the rate at which those at the other end die, does that mean the grey voting population will diminish, and does that mean the politicians will care less about them?

  1. I think it will just get more and more difficult to get served at B&Q.

  2. 64 years, 2 months and 17 days! I only I could be so lucky as to get my pension at that age!I have longer to wait!

  3. I have now to wait until I'm 67. My guess is that people 50 or below now will never get a state pension if they've been prudent enough to make their own provisions.

Hence why I haven't waited another 17 years.

It scares me to think of people in jobs involving patient care working until they are nearly 70. I know lots of 70 year olds and I wouldn't want them as my GP, dentist, surgeon, chiropodist, nurse...

    Happy birthday for Tuesday though.

    1. Not so much of the old - you're not that far behind me! I've had possibly the first birthday cards ever from Jackie and Aunty Marc.

She was trying to post yours every day for a week, I kept telling her it was too early.
